Programme Overview

PhD in Science will produce graduates who are knowledgeable and competent through research in relevant fields to meet local and international demands among others in public or private sectors in biological and biochemistry field. Hence, this course will emphasise on both theories and application of scientific skills to ensure that these graduates require what it takes to contribute in the industries either locally or internationally.

Doctor of Phylosophy in Science emphasised various competency needed in order to produce a holistic graduates. The career opportunity od the graduates are academician in Higher Education Institutes, scientist, reference experts, consultants and product specialist.

  1. A master’s degree accepted by PICOMS senate
  2. Other qualifications equivalent to master’s degree that are accepted by PICOMS senate
  3. Student with bachelor’s degree who are registered for master’s degree programmes by research may apply to convert their candidacy to the doctoral degree programme within ONE (1) year after master’s degree registration, subjected to:
  • Must have first class bachelors’ degree
  • Having shown competency and capability in conducting research at doctoral

degree level.

  • Must have minimum ONE (1)

publication (SCOPUS – indexed)

  • Approval by the PICOMS Senate.
