Diploma in Pharmacy
Programme Overview
Pharmacy is the study of the preparation, dispensing and review of drugs as well as providing additional clinical services. It provides the basic knowledge that links health sciences with pharmaceutical sciences and aims to ensure the safety, efficacy, and affordable use of drugs.
With pharmacy, you will learn the scientific basis of medicine. This include understanding that the body and major organs work as a whole (anatomy and physiology), the science of dosage form design (pharmaceutics) and the body’s reaction to drugs (pharmacology).
The study of drugs also requires an understanding of how these drugs work onto diseases involving microbes, and alternative type of treatments in order to treat the diseases. As such, students will be exposed to the study of microbes as well as alternative medicine. To understand the chemical implication and background of the said drugs, students will also learn the basic of chemistry and the composition of the medications.
The programme will provide you with an excellent understanding of the drugs and its effect, and position you for the next stage of undergraduate programme.
