Programme Overview
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Pharmaceutical Technology programmes comprises the application of technology and scientific research prepares the student to become an expert and practices in production of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and nutraceuticals. The students will also be fully knowledge in new product development process, packaging, quality control, quality assurance, factory and laboratory management, warehouse and stock distribution management, and work process design, and sales and marketing in pharmaceutical manufacturing. The programme and curriculum and delivery techniques are designed to ensure that the student will have the theoretical and industrial knowledge and also transferable skills needed to be ready for a career on pharmaceutical technology.
On the study of pharmaceutical technology will include basic courses in programme focusing pharmaceutical technology, pharmaceutical physics, pharmaceutical analysis, pharmaceutical engineering, Advance Drug Delivery System, Biopharmaceutical Product Development, Halal pharmaceuticals, the scientific subjects like Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Microbiology, and Pharmacology. It will also require more specific curriculum regarding the discovery and research like Drug Dosage Design, Research Methodology and Statistics and Pharmaceutical Informatics.
The programme touches the regulatory aspect of pharmaceutical management and ethics like Pharmacy Legislation and Ethics and the Entrepreneurship as well as Managerial skills. This programme prepared students with theoretical, practical and operational skills in the pharmaceuticals and related industrial sectors. It is designed to equip graduates with fundamental knowledge in scientific disciplines that will prepare them for career related to drug discovery and development, formulation, evaluation, standards and regulatory matters as well as marketing of pharmaceutical and other related products such as herbals, cosmetics and functional food preparations.

- Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) / Matriculation / A-Level / Pre- University/Foundation with a minimum of Grade C (GPA 2.33) in any two (2) subjects, or its equivalent AND Possess SPM with three (3) credits In Mathematics, one science subject and one any other subject, or its equivalent. ; OR
- Diploma (MQF Level 4) in a related field 2.50 CGPA; CGPA below 2.50 may be supported by at least two (2) years (24 months) working experience in a relevant field; OR
- Other qualifications recognized as equivalent by the Government of Malaysia. OR
- Any program with equivalent qualifications as accepted by the University Senate.
